Just as an aside, I’ll tell you how i sold my domain for high prophits, because I think I can sum up in a couple of lines what would probably be a profitable ebook.

First, I had a domain (single word, dictionary term in a good tld) that was related to a specific niche with 1million+ results.

I had never developed the domain. However, I have done external seo (build links) so it had some PR.

Also, I HAD planned to develop the domain.

So I developed a myspace account related to this niche, and used the different bots to get a large targetted friends list of people who were interested in this topic, did this topic, or whatever.

Last night I set up a timed bulletin advertising the sale of the domain to be posted every 400 minutes.

This afternoon when I came home I had an offer that I thought was good ($x,000).

So this would be my strategy if I wanted to develop it or sell an ebook or whatever.

Buy domains related to specific niches on the cheap.

For a few weeks do link building, etc. so that it ranks well for the specific terms.

If you can throw some articles up, even better. Then you can do some monetization.

While you’re developing your backlinks or PR, or whatever, concurrently run a myspace friend adding campaign that is specifically targetted for that niche.

Wait for the next pagerank update, or sooner if you want.

Harvest all stats (overture searches per month, # of results in google for search term(s), pagerank, backlinks, traffic, earnings per month, or whatever).

Post a few bulletins for 2 or 3 days letting people know that you’re planning on selling this domain on myspace, and build a bit of anticipation in the niche.

Then run an auction, and let people actually place their bids on the comments of the profile you’ve created.

Of course, you might find more buyers or better heeled buyers on webmaster or domaining forums, but if you tap diretly into the passion of the market itself, you might walk away lucky.

And - it’s easy to automate all of this process.
